NearPing is a nearby social discovery service for adults. This policy explains the personal data used to operate the service.

Data we process

We process account email, profile details, birth date, interests, optional photos, connections, messages, safety reports, device push tokens, diagnostics and short-lived Bluetooth discovery tokens.

Nearby discovery

NearPing uses Bluetooth proximity to identify opted-in NearPing devices nearby. Other users are not shown an exact distance, map pin or precise GPS location.

Purpose and legal basis

We process data to provide the requested service, maintain safety and security, prevent abuse, communicate important service information, comply with legal obligations and improve reliability. Where consent is the appropriate basis, it may be withdrawn.

Photos and messages

Chat media is private to the matched conversation. Camera images are re-encoded before upload to strip EXIF/GPS metadata. Messages may be retained long enough to operate safety, abuse-investigation and legal processes.

Sharing and processors

NearPing uses service providers for authentication, database/storage hosting, notifications, crash diagnostics and app distribution. We do not sell personal data.

Retention and deletion

Users may delete messages and permanently delete their NearPing account in the app. An external deletion request is available at Delete account. Limited records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, disputes or law.

Your rights
